A Case of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome following therapy with Dilantin

Abstract
|

|
Stevens-Johnson syndrome was known and described in the 1800´s but interest in this disease was Stimulated by Stevens and Johnson, who described it again in 1922.
It is thought to be a hypersensitivity state, with many drugs and other agents incrimated as causative factors. Ellis first described Stevens-Johnson syndrome following dilantin therapy in 1943.
We experienced one case of Stevens-Johnson syndrome in 7-year-old girl who was treated with Dilantin.
A brief review of related literatures are presented.
